Ghanaian Nonprofit organization, Schools Support Project has organized a one day career forum for 2021 Junior High School graduates. The forum happened today, 22nd November, 2021 at Loum Presby Basic School in the Shai Osudoku district to help graduates to make good career decisions for the future.
According to the leadership of the foundation led by Jonathan Nii Laryea better known as Jonilar, records over the years shows a lot of graduates who made entry to Senior High Schools and other professions do so without detailed information about their choices and there’s the need for this kind of forums in schools across the country to help change the narrative.
Speaking at the forum, Miss Akua Magdalene, owner of an online clothing store, House of Mag Mai, urges graduates to try their hands on anything they are passionate about because it will help them discover their true potential. She also added that entrepreneurship is a good field to consider because not everybody will end up being employed either in the government or private sector. She wrapped up by asking the students to be disciplined because life has a lot to offer those who are conscious.

In preparation for today’s job market, Miss Sophia Ashiabi of Sophie sells asked graduates to read extensively, learn by observation from home and community at large, especially the young girls who want to become health workers. She also highlighted the need for some elementary practical skills in schools to enable students to discover their strengths while in school. Sophia is also a former nurse who practiced for years before bowing out of the ward to do marketing.

Assistant Head teacher, Evelyn Aba Eduful, on behalf of the school’s administration extends gratitude to the Schools support project for the good journey they have started with Loum PresbyBasic School. She also urges participants to take all the words of admonishment seriously and abstain themselves from excessive drugs and premarital sex while they wait for their results in 2022.

About Schools Support Project
Schools Support Project (SSP) is a non-profit social intervention program started on 2nd June, 2021 by Ghanaian Digital Music Education and Tourism website, Jonilar.net to support deprived and remote schools and communities in Ghana. Interventions by SSP are in the form of supply of free teaching and learning materials, uniforms, financial assistance, teaching assistance, mentoring sessions, skills training and many others of interest.
