Facebook Cuts Down Spam to Help Real Creators

Facebook is taking strong steps to stop spammy content from taking over people’s feeds. The company says too much spam is making it hard for real creators to be seen. Now, Facebook will reduce how often spammy posts show up and stop those accounts from making money.

Some people try to trick the system by using long or unrelated captions, or by posting the same thing over and over. Facebook says these tricks hurt the experience for everyone. That’s why they’re also removing fake accounts and pages that pretend to be someone else.

> “We’re making changes to help real creators grow and give people more control over what they see,” Facebook said in its official announcement.

The company also shared that in 2024, it removed over 100 million fake pages and 23 million fake profiles. They are now testing new tools to help users report bad comments and protect original content.

> “Spammy content is crowding out real voices. We’re taking action to fix that,” Facebook added.
