In a landmark move to strengthen international cooperation, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Governor Albert Bryan Jr. of the U.S. Virgin Islands, establishing a strategic framework for collaboration in tourism development, cultural exchange, trade facilitation, and investment promotion.
The agreement was finalized during the USVI–Africa Mini Summit held at the Westin Beach Resort and Spa, Frenchman’s Reef, in St. Thomas, highlighting efforts to deepen people-to-people connections and create sustainable economic opportunities between Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Bryan emphasized the broader significance of the partnership:
“This memorandum is about more than travel. It is about connection.”
The MoU underscores a commitment to leveraging shared heritage as a bridge for opportunity and collaboration, with both sides aiming to foster stronger diaspora ties and boost tourism and trade.
The Ghana Tourism Authority reaffirmed its dedication to building meaningful international partnerships that elevate Ghana’s global presence, strengthen diaspora relations, and unlock new avenues for investment. Through this initiative, Ghana continues to position itself as the gateway to Africa and a bridge between heritage and opportunity.
