Burkina Faso and Ghana Explore Strengthened Educational Cooperation

The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana, H.E. David Kabré, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in the field of education.

During the meeting, the two sides explored several initiatives, including granting Burkinabè high school graduates access to Ghana’s public tertiary institutions at capped tuition fees and supporting English language teaching in Burkina Faso through teacher training and deployment.

Hon. Iddrisu assured the Ambassador of the Ghanaian government’s support for these proposals and announced plans for a Labour Exchange Programme, which will see Ghanaian teachers deployed to Burkina Faso to teach English, while Burkinabè teachers will teach French in Ghana.

The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between Ghana and Burkina Faso in education, enhancing skills development and cultural exchange between the two countries.
