Rytikal, who has just changed his name to “Purytikal” has got a major opportunity to launch himself into the ‘league of greats’ as he gets featured on a new Morgan Heritage song “Headline Fi Front Page” due for February 4th release. The groups first new song in over 2 years.
Mojo Morgan, Group Member of the Morgan Heritage in a press engage broke the news about putting the young talent from St. Thomas on their upcoming record which will be distributed by Heritage Grown Productions & Johnny Wonder.
Rytikal is one of the very young Jamaican music talents who is fast catching up with huge global audiences after he gained global recognition in 2021.
Undoubtedly, this new feature will register as his very first and biggest feature. Not just because it is with Morgan Heritage but it is not so common to find very young talents like Rytikal being picked up by a GRAMMY-winning and an internationally known Veteran Reggae Group like the Morgan’s who have lived a music career spanning over 30 years and still active.
There’s high anticipation for this record as fans are itching to hear how Rytikal will be able to fit into the ‘big shoes’ given him by Morgan Heritage. Be on the lookout for this big record and input February 4th on your calendar, the day of official release globally.
Mojo Morgan of Morgan Heritage in his opening conversations with Elorm Beenie who writes for a big African Blog in Ghana, BeenieWords.com says, “Rytikal was a young boy who stayed about 5 minutes away from Heritage Estates and used to come to visit. Ryan, as we knew him when he was young, has grown up to become a great recording artiste.”
How did Morgan Heritage connect with Rytikal?
“I told Johnny Wonder that we (Morgan Heritage) have a new record we need to release but needed a young artiste on it. I asked him who should we put on this? He gave me a list of 3 artistes to choose from and when I listened to them, Rytikal and Jahshii caught my attention; then I got to know he was the young chap who grew up in Airy Castle, St Thomas, Jamaica.” (Mojo Morgan of Morgan Heritage recounts)
“He has a laid back country vibe and the energy you feel in the urban areas like Kingston that sounds so beautiful and promising; so we chose him because he is the ‘Chosen One’ for the project. If you listen to his new song ‘Beauty In The Struggle’ and how he was able to recount his story and put it together meaningfully in lyrics, it’s so beautiful. Rytikal definitely is the one. So we put him on our new record due for release February 4th, Mojo added.
