The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, yesterday inaugurated an Interim Creative Arts Council to steer affairs of the creative arts sector.
The inauguration was done in collaboration with the Ghana Culture Forum- an umbrella organisation of most of the culture and creative arts domain.
Amongst the issues to be addressed by the council is to champion the passage of the Creative Arts Bill into an Act so as to streamline development within the domain.
It is also to come out with appropriate policies and administrative structures that can propel the growth of the creative arts industry as a major pillar for socio-economic advancement.
Additionally the Interim Creative Arts Council is to assist the Ministry facilitate the establishment and management of the Creative Arts scheme.

The membership is the Interim Council comprise members of the most of the domains that make the industry including, Musicians, actors, film producers, collecting societies, fashion and beauticians, poets and spoken word, traditional medicine practitioners, writers, publishers, visual artists etc.
