Ghanaian hairstylist and Guinness World Record holder Chelsea Owusu Ansah has announced that she will attempt to break her own record on 6th March 2026, aiming to create 35 hair locks in just 8 hours.
Speaking to her followers on TikTok, Chelsea said, “I’m not chasing a record “I’m breaking the one I already hold”. “On 6th March 2026, I’m attempting to make 35 hair locks in 8 hours to break my own Guinness World Record. Watch history with me.”
Chelsea, also known as Abigail, reflected on her previous achievement, when she set her first Guinness World Record by creating 27 hair locks in 8 hours. She described that moment as proof that consistency and hard work truly pay off.
“This time, I’m aiming for 35 locks in just 8 hours. Hair locks are more than hair to me they are identity and culture.
Every head I touch carries a story,” Chelsea said, emphasizing that the upcoming attempt is not just about numbers, but about legacy, Ghana, and celebrating African excellence and culture.
She has officially invited the government of Ghana, ministries, the creative industries, and every proud Ghanaian to witness the record attempt.
“Come and support real talents, come support African excellence and culture. Together, let’s show the world Ghana can do it,” she said.
Chelsea’s record-breaking attempt will be streamed on TikTok, giving viewers across the globe the chance to witness history in the making.
She stressed that this effort is about more than personal achievement it’s about leaving a legacy and showcasing Ghanaian creativity and cultural identity to the world.
