Ketu North MP Confirms Sod-Cutting Ceremony Set to Transform Afife Senior High Technical School’s Infrastructure

Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency and a National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker, has announced the commencement of major infrastructure projects at Afife Senior High Technical School starting tomorrow, aimed at addressing long-standing facility deficits at the institution.

Since assuming office in January 2025, Hon. Agbana has been active in education, youth empowerment, and social development, implementing initiatives such as the Edem Agbana Scholarship Scheme, which has awarded over GHC1.3 million to support hundreds of tertiary students.

He has also championed skills development programmes, environmental protection projects, and improvements to health services and local infrastructure in his constituency.

Reflecting on the dire state of Afife Senior High Technical School, Hon. Agbana recalled that in 2024, he personally funded the partitioning of an old classroom block to create a girls’ dormitory, emphasizing the urgency of further development.

“We did all the legwork, knocked on every door that we could, and last year, approvals were given for these projects and more,” he said.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) has also taken responsibility for previously abandoned classroom projects, with further plans expected to be announced soon.

The upcoming sod-cutting ceremony will mark the beginning of several critical infrastructure projects, including:
• Two-storey dormitory block with courtyard for girls
• Two-storey dormitory block with courtyard for boys
• Two-storey administration/library block
• 24-seater toilet facility

Hon. Agbana expressed his gratitude to President Mahama, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Hon. Bedzrah, and GETFUND for their support, saying, “Baby steps, we are on a journey; surely, we shall reach our destination.”These projects are expected to significantly improve learning and living conditions for students at Afife Senior High Technical School, while reinforcing Hon. Agbana’s ongoing commitment to education, youth development, and infrastructure improvement in Ketu North.
