Two of Ghana’s heavyweight Hip-hop artistes, Sarkodie and Manifest reunited yesterday after almost a lustrum of intense lyrical war. The two came together after Sarkodie’s surprise appearance at Manifest’s event, Manifestivities18 held at the Bukom boxing arena in Accra.
Unlike what happens at the boxing arena, the two trashed out their differences, shared jokes in front of the fans – a cool way to end 2018. The beef according to fellow rapper, Cabum started in 2015 when Manifest threw shots at Sarkodie in the song, ‘Keep shinning’ released together with Grammy producer, Coptic – he revealed in a song.
The two giants crossed paths and shades each other in songs, ‘godMC’ and Kanta. The beef according to many also slowed the pace at which Hip-hop was moving at the time.
The reconciliation is a big one and marks the beginning of another era in GH Hip-hop –a time to shoulder the young acts representing the culture as they have individually started doing by putting a good number of new faces on their records and shows.
Manifest is by far one of the most influential musicians that have uniquely distinguished him from kind of music to appearance. He has following from all over the world.
Sarkodie on the other side is an iconic rapper with ratings from many top African rappers. His works has been recognised by many awards scheme including VMGA, AFRIMMA and the BET
