Sisters Keepers Association International pays courtesy call on Chiefs and people of Kafaba

International Women organisation, Sisters Keepers Association pays a courtesy call on Chiefs and people of Kafaba in the Savanna region.

The visit according to the communication director of the organisation,Madam Abena Pokua Ahwenee is a follow up to their call on government to take proactive decisions in bringing to book murders of 90 years old woman on suspicion of witchcraft late last month.

She also added, paramount among reasons for their visit was to engage community leaders and women in the area to discuss possible ways of preventing such inhumane act from reoccurring in the future.

Charity director of Sister Keepers Association and founder of Maltiti Foundation Hajia Fawzia Karim reinforced their call on government not to relent on seeking justice for the victim and also public education to enlighten citizenry on old-age and negative impact of such outmoded cultural practices in modern times.

Kafaba – a town in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region is in the news after the gruesome murder of Madam Akua Denteh,90 by granddaughter, Latifa Bumaye,32 and others on suspicion of witchcraft.

In the latest report, The Savannah Regional Police Command has confirmed arrest of some suspects in connection of the murder.
