After a successful press engagement at a soirée held in Accra, Ghana’s Capital city on August 21, 2019, renowned Ghanaian Music Producer, JMJ, partners Boomplay to officially launch his “RIDDIM of the GODS” project; listed are over 30 artistes featured by him.
Split into a 5-genre project, “Riddim of the GODS” would ink in history as the first ever multiple genre project singularly run by an African Producer. The project cuts across Rap (HipHop), Dancehall, and the ever blazing Afrobeats who chi is fast selling across the globe now. Also laced with the 5-genre project is what Producer JMJ calls “Diva’s Edition”, a carefully crafted blend of African sounds and other fusion genres to highlight the very powerful Ghanaian female voices — a strategy he says is in lieu with women empowerment on the music scene where the ladies had their own space to showcase their creativity under one beat without competition from the men. And then comes a final one he titled “Big League” — this last genre category is more of Ghana’s classic urban musicians who have run a space of between 5years to 20 years consistently on the music scene — creating room for audience to appreciate veteran and pioneer voices under a sub-genre in ghana called “Hiplife”. All songs on the 5-genre album project will be streamed EXCLUSIVELY on Boomplay Music (www.boombplaymusic.com).
Huge Ghanaian music heavyweights with global influences like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Samini have all featured on this body of work.
