Ghana’s leading telecommunication company, MTN Ghana has officially launched the 5th edition of the MTN Heroes of change today 14th November, 2018 at the company’s headquarters in Accra.
At the launch of this year’s edition the CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh congratulated the general public for their high interest in the challenge of the years and the progress it has brought to beneficiaries and the country at large. He also added that the challenge is the second most talked about social intervention in Ghana and going forward a lot has been put in place to make it more appealing to touch the lives of many out there.
Winner of the fourth edition, Madam Naomi Amoah said the foundation; Royal seed home has catered for more than 100 of homeless children through the support from MTN Heroes of change.
Communication expert, Dr Doris Dartey on behalf of her colleagues, financial expert, Henry Casely Hayford and Chief executive officer of Legacy and Legacy, Dr Albert Ocran assured the public the jury is going to do a great job to ensure they shot list the best candidate for the challenge.
The MTN “Heroes of Change” project seeks to unearth and celebrate these people. The program will identify, celebrate and support the contribution of these heroes and heroines who are playing diverse roles in the development of our society.
The 2018 edition.
A shortlist of 10 nominees and their projects will be showcased on TV over a 13-week period, and an independent panel of Judges will select three category winners and an ultimate 2018 MTN Hero of Change.
The 2018 MTN Hero of Change will receive project support of GHC100, 000.
Submission Deadline
Nominations are open from Wednesday 14th November, 2018 to 11:59pm on Friday 18th January, 2019.
Criteria for Selection
Selections will be from the following MTN Ghana Foundation Focus areas:
- Health – dedication to the enhancement of human health in Ghana.
- Economic Empowerment – commitment to capacity building and economic empowerment in Ghana.
- Education – helping to improve literacy and/or increase access to education in Ghana.
