After the successful release of her debut LP ‘Pieces In Peace’ , Ghanaian female musician Celly Chordz now known as Kafui Chordz has made a U-turn to the drawing board to reposition and also smooth some rough urges which includes change of name from “Celly” to “Kafui” with the suffix Chordz still in places as official brand name. Kafui means “Praise” in Ewe where the musician hails from.
Explaining in an interview with one Ghanaian blog, the silky musician said the next direction of her career is to infuse indigenous rudiments in her production, create a Ghanaian identity for the world to be able to trace her root and easily relate with her kind of music.
Kafui Chordz is so far having a good year with massive attention for her LP. Songs like “E go be’, ‘Highlife mash up’, ‘Lovey dovey’ and ‘One day’ are getting good reviews every day.
The Afro and neo soul singer will now be identified with global sounds with heavy influence of Ghanaian elements and a touch of local patterns in her dress code.
