After recording a major hit with his Reggae single “My Own” last year (2017), Samini drops another wild but rather touching Reggae song he titles “Obimbra”. The song throws more light on sexual abuse of women and rape across varied circles. The issue of rape and defilement has been in the news for the past weeks and struck a nerve in the Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall Veteran to put his thoughts together in the studio and drop this one. The song is tipped to be a campaign song against sexual violence against women across the globe. We are hinted that Samini would have this record as his second single for an upcoming Reggae album he’s putting together, “My Own” he says would be the first record to find its way on the album.
Samini who is now signed to Africa 1 Media has been busy in the studios, in Ghana and in the USA recording cuts for the next album, which would be his 7th studio album. The song was recorded on the Reggae Sax Riddim, which also equally featured huge Jamaican artistes like Jah Cure, Sizzla, Lutan Fyah, Turbulence, just to name a few. Samini was officially hosted.
