After successfully releasing their second EP; “HUMANIMALS”, VILLY & The Xtreme Volumes are starting a series of performances to take their boldest work to the people.
In today’s fast paced world in which corruption and other social vices have seen a drastic increase, VILLY & The Xtreme Volumes led by Mr Common Sense “VILLY” are fast changing things with their socially conscious music with its signature realism and witty lyrics, causing raving excitement within Ghana, the Diaspora and attracting fans globally. The group incorporates a range of genres into their playing.
With multiple high rated reviews from 2014’s UNCOLONISED I, features by the BBC and other critically acclaimed performances including a session at ART STUDIO, the first concert this year is the Uncolonised Vol II. They kickstarted this series in 2014 in collaboration with Alliance Francaise and based on the success of that, they plan to have yet another one.
VILLY and his Group (The Xtreme Volumes) are regular performers at Felabration musical festival, Sabolai Radio Music Festival, Asa Baako Music Festival, performed as Headliners for the 2012 world music day concert organized by Alliance Française Accra, Goethe institute and the British council.
You are bound to enjoy a variety of sounds from their AfroFusion catalogue, from Afrobeat, highlife, rock, soul and a lot more.
This EP tackles corruption in Africa and VILLY boldly drops names. Speaking with a voice silenced for years, he is ready to bring the sound for mental revolution in Africa back again.
Last year they featured King Ayisoba and Ofie Kodjoe, this year who knows who the guest acts might be…
The concert takes place on Friday, 30th September, 2016 at Alliance Française Accra Amphitheatre at 8pm.
One thing is for sure; it will be an experience of XTREMEVOLUMES!
