Ugandan Producer Bushingtone Speaks On Working On Coke Studio Africa 4

by | Aug 30, 2016 | Africa

The acclaimed Ugandan producer Bushingtone makes his debut on Coke Studio Africa this year! He will be producing Nigerian singer Flavour N’abania and Angolan artiste of the Atchu Tchutcha fame Yuri Da Cunha on the upcoming fourth season of the show. The group of artistes are currently in Nairobi, Kenya.
Bushingtone said, “Producing Flavour and Yuri Da Cunha has been so [seamless]. They are both great vocalists, great performers on stage and perfectionists when song writing. The language barrier did not stop them from singing in each other’s dialects,” adding that the audience should expect to discover how well “Flavour sings in Portuguese and how Yuri sings in Pidgin,” among other aspects.
Flavour said, “Many of my fans have loved my Coke Studio Africa collaborations because of my chemistry with the ladies. This time it will be different because I am working on a vibe with Yuri too, and we’re getting there.” Exclusively speaking during the recording of the show – Flavour spoke highly of Yuri: “He’s such a wonderful and talented musician. We’ve spent some great times in the studio.”
Yuri on the other hand praises Coke Studio Africa for pairing him with Flavour. He says that before his time on the show, he had been looking to connect with Flavour ever since discovering him on YouTube. “I was looking for him to feature in my album that will feature African artistes, and meeting him here has made me so happy! I didn’t expect to meet him.”

Bushingtone will also produce Waje (Nigeria), Serge Beynaud (Ivory Coast), The Kansoul (Kenya) and Lizha James (Mozambique). Other producers on Coke Studio Africa 4 will include Masterkraft (Nigeria), Madtraxx (Kenya), Maphorisa (South Africa) and Chopstix (Nigeria). Flavour also spoke about the success of Masterkraft’s song Finally that featured him and Sarkodie. “The collaboration of Finally started right here at Coke Studio Africa last year. He played me the beat in Kenya and we started performing – later in Nigeria Sarkodie came and did his verse and then boom!”
