The hiplife recording group having already kicked off the year with a new single, “Monica” ft Edem, also shared their plans for 2016. In a conversation, the duo made up of Andrew and Joshua shed light on how last year went, the releases, unreleased collaboration’s, some wonderful stage moments and more.
Talking about their music, Keche detailed the releases, dropping two videos “Diabetes” & Case”, collaborations with some top artists and yet to be released new singles.
“Last year was a busy one, we dropped a couple of singles that did pretty well. Though our focus was more on rejuvenating the Keche brand we managed to release these, “In His Time”, “Shame On You”, “Case” and capped the year off with “Monica”, which also ushered us into the new year”, stated Joshua.
For Andrew, “you know the music always comes first; going to the studio recording is what defines me. That feeling of releasing songs that the fans want is what urges us on and we’ll keep giving them good music. Our music catalogue saw us release four singles in 2015 and the experience during such productions was great. We’ve learnt a few things we looking forward to apply this year”.
Keche also discussed some of the top shows they graced during last years’ 12 month span.
According to the duo, although they performed at numerous concerts in 2015, their top three memorable moments was at “Ghana Meets Naija”, “MTN 4SyteTV Music Video Awards” and last but not the least at the “Tigo Unplugged Concert” in Kumasi.
“Performing in-front of thousands gives us that chill and its trilling. But cheering the crowd is our first most priority”, Andrew said with a smile.
On the other hand, Joshua who for the first time revealed his alias as Ojeezy stated, “Sharing the stage with fellow talented musicians is captivating, and is competition at the same. It’s a great feeling but then again you have to work hard to always be among the best so yea we loved it”.
With their new song, “Monica” ft Edem already on the airwaves, Keche indicated they’ve lined up projects for the year.
“We have soo many unreleased songs that sometimes, it is very difficult to choose which one comes out first. We have songs with Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei and look forward to working with Shatta Wale, VVIP, Kwaw Kese and some top acts on the African continent”, stated by Andrew who simply wants to be called ‘Drew’.
In addition, Keche revealed their intentions to drop an album later this year.
“The album was originally planned last year but a few setbacks made us push it to 2016 and hopefully it’l be out soon”. “This is big for us, you know dropping a full album so we wanna take our time and get it right. Big ups to our label GB Recz for last year”, Joshua added.
They concluded by saying, fans should expect something big this year, especially with their collabo’s and nothing but good music from Keche.
