Just when people thought High life music was ebbing away, there seems to have been a sudden renaissance of the genre in recent times with both new and old highlife acts churning out massive hits.It is even more heart – warming when very young artistes drift from the usual westernized genres in vogue to do highlife which is touted as music for older folks.
A 19 year old Koforidua –based musician, Talanku, born Lloyd Daniel Boateng has started wowing music lovers with his style of highlife.Talanku has a smash highlife hit song that is making massive rotations on most radio stations in the country. The song titled Mensei Da which has the singer telling his enemies he is unfazed by their evil deeds, is done in a mid tempo highlife vein with great horn and guitar works. It features Big J Cartel of Praye fame.
The maturity with he sings is what keeps people wondering how a young artiste of that nature could do mature highlife of a sort. He also has songs like Fa Ma Me ft. Yaa Pono and I Miss You ft. Ephraim.
Recently, he has released another single called Blessings with Nero X and it has also started making waves.
The good news is that the owners of Joy Industries, producers of Joy Daddy Bitters, Joy Ointment and Joy Twedie Bitters are impressed with Talanku’s talent and singing prowess and have decided to provide him with all he needs to make his music career a success. There is, to this, a juicy endorsement package in store for the enterprising highlife artiste.
