Following the successful stories of some popular Nigerian artistes whose careers began here, Ghana- based-Nigerian artiste, Iyk Wonder has described Ghana as a “fortune ground” for many Nigerian artistes.

According to the young man who hails from Abra State in Nigeria and currently signed to KB Empire Record label, he has been overwhelmed by how Ghanaians supported the young careers of Nigerian artistes such as Patoranking, Mr Eazi, Flavour and Eze who are currently enjoying fame in the country.

“Well, this is the observation that I have made. Ghana brings luck to my Naija brothers who start their careers here.

“There is evidence to back the claim. Even back in Nigeria, any artiste worth the salt knows that you can brag of your big status when your songs have been accepted in Ghana.

“That is the reputation Ghana has earned but it is unfortunate that GH music industry doesn’t know the power is wields. There are many opportunities here and if you put things right, you will definitely excel,” he told Showbiz in a chat on Tuesday.

He has been honing his skills as a musician back in Nigeria since 2003. His quest to find “greener pastures” for his music career found him in Ghana in 2008.

The fifth of six boys, the Afro Pop artiste assured his fans of the release of his African album by the end of the year.

Already, he has released African Light and Supa Bet which features Ennwa of Dobble fame.

He hopes to attract the warm reception of Ghanaians as he makes his way to stardom after being featured on a number of songs including Kwaw Kese’s Masa Abeg and Guru’s Baba God.

Iyk Wonder used the opportunity to talk about peace at the upcoming elections in December which he said has been summed up in his African Light song.

“Our forefathers have fought a good fight and we must keep that inheritance. If Ghana and Africa can be a peaceful place, it is up to Africans and not foreigners as our new crop of leaders are portraying,” he stated.
