Juapong based Mixtape and Club Dj Augustine Tetteh Wayo popularly known as Dj Ricky Augustine has been nominated for the 2016 Ghana Dj Awards organized by Mercury Republic to reward and recognize hard working Djs who in their small ways are pushing Ghana Music to the top.

The nominations was announced yesterday at Mj Grand Hotel in Accra and Dj Ricky Augustine secured a slot as ‘Best Pub Dj’. He will be competing with DJ Mac Tontoh, DJ Atopa, DJ Godday, DJ Kay, DJ Sakawa, DJ Skinny & DJ Lens to win the category.

Dj Ricky Augustine started djing right after his Junior High School education and has played major events in the Volta Region and Accra respectively. In 2011 he released a 10 track mixtape album christened ‘Afrobeat Evolution Mixtape Album’ under showbiz GH and subsequently released single mixtapes ranging from Hip-hop,Highlife,RnB,Reggae,Dancehall,Afrobeat etc. In 2015 he released a series of Mixtapes in Volumes including his ‘Party Pressure Mixtapes’ that was widely accepted. He graduated from Africa Radio & Tv College in 2013 and has previously worked with Asuogyaman FM,KW FM and Look Fm.

Dj Ricky Augustine is the CEO of Stage300Live and official Dj at Aurelia Republic and recently hosted ‘Fiamor Concert’ which was undoubtedly the biggest outdoor event in the Volta Region December last year where Afrobeat and Highlife group Gallaxy performed alongside rising Hiplife artiste Fiamor,Ice Phlames,Elnino,Phame and many more.

He works as a Pub Dj at Paddies Pub,Club 7 all in Juapong and Club 45 in Accra.

The date for the voting process and the main Awards will be announced by the organizers in the days to come. He is currently working on his 2016 mixtape Album ‘Ricky Jam’ expected to be released soon under Stage 300 Live.
